Audio PRoduction
Portfolio
I’ve had the opportunity to work with marketers, international publications, app developers, and freelance clients. Whether it’s creating original soundtracks, sfx assets, touching up a podcast to standard LUFT levels, or restoring damaged audio, I’m always up for the task requested.

Hmong Art Installation : Repair and Isolation
The client was intending to take recordings of a particular ritual from a ceremony that is customary to the Hmong, and wanted me to isolate the audio from the natural elements in the recording so they could arrange the passages however they saw fit for their audio visual installation as 5 separate composite tracks.
A nice little benefit to this job was that I had time to workout my new workflow with Nuendo and SpectraLayers, which worked flawlessly with video right out of the gate. This proved to be helpful since both worked in tandem unlike using RX and whatever other DAW I used had spotty support/integration.
It proved a worthy challenge, as many of the recordings were completely distorted from clipping and had excess noise from what appeared to be festival ambience. In addition, lavalier mics were sometimes utilized for the takes, and some without which made the quality of the clips vary from take to take. I feel I did an admirable job for about 20 hours of work, and did a quick mix job at the very end for the 5 comp’d tracks to insure that levels were balanced for each track.

Working On UI SFX
Retold App : Main (menu) Theme & UI SFX design
Retold is the app I’m working on as Head of Audio at Mindweave Interactive. It’s an AI-centered therapy app that is taking a different approach to digital therapy that does not rely on standard text-based communication. Rather, the focus is on listening to the user and encouraging the user to apply solutions to their problems under the guise of it being someone else’s problem for the user to solve.
I took a different approach for writing the OST this time around since I’m at the ground level with the rest of the development team. Typically, I write everything in isolation and come up with like 3-4 drafts, present to client, see what the client likes, ask follow up questions, and then continue on one or two of the drafts with notes in hand.
This time, I went to the CEO’s place and took wrote with him in arms-length while meetings were going on. This proved to be a very interesting experience as I could get feedback immediately and guide him through some sound design decisions, editing parameters for synths, etc. We settled on using wood-like sfx for the UI to help foster the “lost-in-the-woods” atmosphere and presentation that we were going for.
I really enjoyed this experience, and will be sure to update with any new developments to the app.

Studio on fire Case Study
Studio on fire is a local printing press company in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They specialize specifically in high end package printing which makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd. I handled all the audio mixing, mastering, soundtrack composition, and recording on set. SoF and Co. were very sweet to me and even accommodated me when I needed some more space to record some machine ambience on the spot with mics.
Check out some of the tunes I made for the two videos on the right!
AI TIME JOURNAL
I completed an internship with AI Time Journal, an online international publication.
My time there was great, I loved having colleagues from all over the world and learning how to work in a remote setting with proper management tools. I’m pretty sure I provided every single one of my talents to the organization; everything from Voice-over work, Ppodcast audio editing, ccript writing, original soundtrack, and sfx asset creation. Here’s a nice sample platter showcasing a bit of everything that I did.

Long Interview.
I edited coughs, plosives, any microphone discrepancies, and made Suman’s microphone to be a little bit “softer” on the ears. In addition, notice how their is no background ambience noise audible which adds to his clairity.
Voice Over Copy and Reading - Silky Smooth
“It’s a Phantom, It’s a Dream” is the first collaborative EP by Anthony Cervantez and Words Alad. Voice and writing by Words Alad, with instrumentals, arrangement and production by Anthony Cervantez.
Words came to me with a request to just listen to the EP, which had 3 tracks each with a 6+ minute runtime. I was floored with the material he had made with an 8 track limit in Ableton Lite. He eventually requested if I would/could spend some time touching up the project files if I had time.
Eventually, this evolved into me writing drum tracks, adding Harpejji in, arrangement, mixing and mastering of the entire project. I really had a blast working through this with Words and hope to do more work with him in the future. Check out the EP on spotify. Very melodramatic.
